North Shore Holiday House is a very special place and has been since it was founded in 1914 by a local group of Huntington-Cold Spring Harbor women. A private, non-profit, overnight camp for girls aged seven to eleven, it is accredited by the American Camping Association. The campers come from families whose incomes meet the USDA eligibility for free or reduced lunch. The camp serves 200 girls from Long Island, with groups of 50 campers attending each of four, two-week sessions. The campers make new friends, learn new skills, and have fun in a nurturing environment. The small size of the camp affords the girls the personal attention of the counselors in a supportive family atmosphere. “When you change a child, you change the world”
