Without your donations and support, it is that much more difficult for us to run camp. Right now we are operating with a projected deficit. It costs $2,175 to provide each girl with a two-week camp session—just over $150 per day! Multiply that by 200 girls per summer, and you see what we are up against.

The volunteer board of Holiday House works hard throughout the year to raise the camp’s operating costs with fundraising events and our on-site thrift shop. Our camp is also funded by a combination of individual donations and foundation grants

Every summer Holiday House hosts girls, ages 7 to 11, from all over Long Island. Our campers all come from families at or below the poverty level as defined by USDA guidelines. Holiday House gives these girls a happy and carefree two-week overnight summer camp session, at no cost to their struggling families.

Campers are able to play, learn new skills, and make new friends, all while participating in programs designed to equip them with lifetime tools of self-esteem, healthy practices, independence, and compassion for others. This past summer, for the first time, we had a science initiative at camp, run by a volunteer from the community This program brought fun science related activities to the campers. Campers leave Holiday House with life skills to take back to their homes and classrooms, helping them make positive choices for their futures.

Founded in 1914, we are asking that you support NSHH. Please help send a child to camp by contributing online by clicking on the link below.
