Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun at the first annual Super Bowl Splash on Sunday, February 2, hosted by Gerber Finance Foundation!
Eagle Dock Beach was awash in sunshine with a festive scene and a sold out crowd. Swimmers and their families arrived to enjoy delicious pastries, sandwiches, s’mores, Bloody Mary’s and more. While the youngest cheerleaders explored the wintry beach, requested balloon animals, and sat patiently to have their faces painted, old friends and new were made. We spoke about our camp and what it means for the community to come together and fundraise, with thanks to Gerber for being the brainchild for this incredible new tradition. Everyone lined up at the waterfront, and then the swimmers ran into the splash to the soundtrack of whoops and cheers from the crowd. The water was cold and the dip was quick, but that morning we all felt that summer is just around the corner!
We want to thank sponsors, participants and first responders for joining together for the morning in support of NSHH summer camp. Everyone’s chattering about bringing their friends to do the splash next year, and we can’t wait!
14th Annual Deck the Halls
Holiday House Tour & Luncheon 2019
The NORTH SHORE HOLIDAY HOUSE held its “Deck the Halls” Holiday House Tour & Luncheon on December 5th, bringing more than 300 attendees from all over Long Island to celebrate the season! This festive day marked the 14th annual house tour, a day when several local homeowners open their doors and showcase their homes decorated for the season. Thank you to the homeowners for allowing your residences to grace our tour!

Lunch at Honu Kitchen & Cocktails was a festive time with delicious salads, gnocchi, roast chicken and treats! There was ample time to catch up with friends, make new acquaintances, and bid on dozens of raffle baskets full of fun gifts for food, wine, sports, spa and pet lovers alike.

We are deeply grateful to Mark Zecher of HONU Kitchen & Cocktails for once again providing his beautifully decorated venue, his staff and over 300 lunches to make this event a success.
6th Annual Hockey Helps
24Hr Hockey Marathon 2019
NORTH SHORE HOLIDAY HOUSE gratefully received a donation from Hockey Helps at their 24 Hour Hockey Marathon sponsored by PwC.
The event started August 31 to and wrapped up September 1 at Dix Hills Hockey Rink.
Local hockey teams, PwC employees, professional players and friends and families have joined together for six years Labor Day weekend to raise money for local charities.
Annual Spring Benefit 2019
Celebrate the Night in White !
On June 8, more than 300 guests dressed in white came to HOLIDAY HOUSE to celebrate and support our campers for our annual Spring Benefit. This year’s theme was “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”, a well know Audrey Hepburn quote chosen by honoree Francine Rexer. Benefit Chairs Coriander Smyth and Tracey Kaplan and their Benefit Committee transformed our rustic camp into a magical evening garden party befitting our lovely honorees.
Mrs. Rexer was honored with her daughters Elizabeth Rexer Leonard, Patricia Rexer Euvrard, and Louise Rexer Smith for their years of support of NORTH SHORE HOLIDAY HOUSE. The Rexer family involvement began when Elizabeth Rexer Leonard was asked to plant a vegetable garden for the campers. The Rexer family went on to host several fundraisers for Holiday House at Mrs. Rexer’s beloved clothing shop, Rexer-Parkes. Their efforts helped raise funds for a new swimming pool and towards our new pavilion.

In true Rexer fashion, the night was a tremendous success. The laid back but elegant atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for our Spring Benefit, our biggest fundraiser each year. A highlight of the evening was the dedication the Rexer Family Vegetable Garden in honor of Francine and her daughters. We are forever thankful for their support of our mission and our campers.

SOLD OUT long before December 6th, 2018, our 13th Annual Holiday House Tour once again was a great success.

Over 400 NSHH friends & loyal supporters toured 5 stunning homes, beautifully decorated for the season. ​As the years before, our visitors started or ended their tour with an early or late lunch at HONU Kitchen & Cocktails in Huntington.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the families who graciously opened their homes on our 13th Annual Holiday House Tour and are deeply grateful to Mark Zecher and Honu Kitchen & Cocktails for their help in making this event a success.
